Smith’s Kauai
Smith’s Kauai is a truly authentic Hawaiian experience. A lush tropical paradise located in Wailua River Valley, Smith’s is a family business, and it’s been around for over 50 years. They offer several different options for you to explore as you adventure in beautiful Kauai!
Smith Family Garden Luau
“Luau” refers to the traditional dish of cooked taro leaves combined with chicken and baked in coconut milk. This was the favorite choice at the feasts, and thus the feast itself was named for this dish. Luaus are celebrations of Hawaiian culture, full of music, dancing, and traditional ceremony and celebration. Smith’s luau takes place on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday of each week. Each luau begins with a tour of the beautiful thirty acre garden park, then transitions to a traditional Imu Ceremony, where the Kalua pig is wrapped in ti leaves and cooked in an earthen Imu oven. You’ll spend this time sipping on drinks and listening to Hawaiian songs. Then it’s time to eat! Smith’s luau features mouthwatering island favorites, such as Kaula pork, beef teriyaki, chicken adobo, and sweet’n’sour mahimahi. Afterwards, enjoy an authentic Aloha show at the open-air amphitheater.
Smith’s Tropical Paradise
This lush park is full of meandering pathways and tropical foliage. Stroll through the Bamboo and Fruit forests, or delight your eyes at the vibrant Flower Wheel. Keep your eye out for colorful birds and fascinating plants. Throughout the park, replicas of Polynesian and Filipino huts represent to visitors what the life of the ancients would look like. You can even have your wedding at Smith’s! Their beautiful Japanese-themed garden island is a popular wedding location for those who want to get married in the gardens.
Smith’s Kauai Wailua River Cruise
The sacred Wailua River is beautiful and peaceful. Smith’s river cruise features open-air cruise boats so you have the best possible view of the lush scenery. As you make the two mile river journey, you’ll listen to songs and stories of ancient Hawaii, and even learn the hula! The cruise lands at the Fern Grotto, one of Kauai’s geological wonders. Amid a rainforest of lush native plants, you’ll see ferns growing upside down from the roof of the grotto, or cave.
No matter what adventure you choose, Smith’s has so many exciting experiences for you to enjoy, each one accentuating the unique beauty and history of Kauai.
