Snorkel Bob’s
As Hawaii’s largest reef outfitter, Snorkel Bob’s is the place to go for all your rental gear (Kauai locations in Kapaa and Koloa)! Not only that, but they also host a wide array of exciting activities, including ziplining, boat trips, helicopter tours, luaus, and surf lessons.
History
Started on Maui in the mid 1980’s, Snorkel Bob’s now has 11 locations on four Hawaiian islands. The founder, Snorkel Bob himself, Robert Winter, is a marine writer and photographer. Robert is dedicated to reef recovery and banning the aquarium trade. He has written twenty books and created a reef documentary to advocate for the banning of aquarium extraction. The Snorkel Bob Foundation is focused on these goals, and donates Snorkel Bob products to organizations engaged in defending marine habitats and/or species.
Activities
Snorkel Bob’s shares access to a multitude of activities on Maui, Kauai, Kona, and Oahu. Looking for water-based adventures? Try snorkeling at Na Pali, or the Ultimate South Shore Snorkel, which visits Kipu Kai (private access) and Sheraton Caverns. Practice your surfing skills with lessons at Poipu Beach. The Secret Falls Hike & Kayak combines land and sea, with a kayak journey down the Wailua River, followed by a rainforest hike to the breathtaking Secret Falls (Uluwehi) waterfall. Want to view the Garden Island from above? Kauai’s Sunshine Helicopter tours soar over the Na Pali Coast, Waimea Canyon, and Waialeale Crater. Another way to glide through the sky is with a zipline tour! Skyline Eco Adventures takes you through three different Kauai valleys, past spectacular mountains and ocean scenery. This exhilarating ride includes 200-foot drop-offs and speeds over 50mph. Another exciting, authentic Hawaiian experience is visiting a luau. Luau Kalamaku is right outside Lihue, and features Hawaiian hula, Tahitian dancing, poi ball twirling, and fire-knife dancing. Witness a historic plantation before enjoying the torch lighting, Imu ceremony, and scrumptious feast.
Snorkel Bob’s not only has all the gear you could want, but also all the adventure you’re looking for!
