The Origins

Everything changed for The Beach House when renowned chef Peter Merriman and restaurateur Bill Terry purchased the restaurant in 2016. The two started Handcrafted Restaurants in 2009, desiring to create a concept that could survive the Great Recession. They have started several other gourmet restaurant chains for fine dining in Hawaii. The Beach House’s reputation had its ups and downs in the years prior to its purchase, but that’s all turned around now thanks to Handcrafted Restaurants. The Beach House has made a name for itself with its service, atmosphere, and quality. The restaurant has won many awards, and is a consistent recipient of Honolulu Magazine’s Hale Aina Gold Award for Best Kauai Restaurant. 

The Menu

The Beach House’s menu changes seasonally, but is always full of a wide array of scrumptious options. They specialize in delicious Hawaiian dishes utilizing fresh ingredients, and pride themselves on sourcing directly from local farmers, fishermen, and breweries, partnering with the community to create sustainability with every mouthwatering bite. The Beach House offers a full Bar & Lounge every evening, featuring traditional and tropical drinks. They also have speciality lemonades, teas, and fresh-squeezed juices for the whole family. Head chef Marshall Blanchard has always been passionate about food, and carries cooking skills from his classical training at the Culinary Institute of America at Hyde Park. They offer pupus (varietous appetizers), salads, pasta, filet mignon, and gourmet seafood dishes including lobster, day boat ahi, and fresh-catch fish.
